Hearts have finally appointed a new manager. As expected given the recent stories in the press, Csaba Laszlo has been confirmed as the new manager. The 44-year-old Romanian, who had previously coached with Borussia Monchengladbach was given permission by his former employers, the Ugandan Football Association, to discuss a possible move to Edinburgh. Laszlo has signed a three-year deal. More info can be found at the club website or over at Scotzine.

There will be league football in Gretna next season. A new team, completely unrelated to the Gretna which went into administration at the end of last season, will join the East of Scotland League and will play their home games in the nearby town of Annan whose own team, Annan Athletic where recently admitted to the Scottish Third Division following Gretna's bankruptcy. The new club is a Trust-owned football club run by the Gretna Supporters Society.

 

Aberdeen look to be close to signing Darlington striker Tommy Wright. An offer of around £100,000 is currently being considered by the club.  The 23-year-old scored 15 goals last season as the Quakers reached the Coca-Cola League Two play-offs. (Teamtalk)

Dundee United have signed Spanish striker Francesco Sandaza from Valencia, with the 23-year-old penning a three-year contract. (Teamtalk)

Cowdenbeath have signed Slovakian midfielder Marek Tomana from Stirling Albion. (BBC)

Peterhead have signed former Dundee Utd keeper Paul Jarvie on a one-year deal - the club's fourth summer signing. (BBC)
