Free Kicks

Jings, cribbens and help me boab.

We can't even go away for a couple of days without the proverbial hitting the fan.  Our betting slip, the one that said Laszlo will be the first to walk (after a gentle push), has been thrown into the bin along with the other Xmas crappery we got.

Gannon? Sacked? Like, whit?! And they where doing so well. Motherwell, to be precise (djing boom)

So aye,  Gannon's sacking from Motherwell came as a bit of a surprise. Nevertheless, the Sun always manages to make a good headline out of it. Or do they? (Sun)

Gannon was, as The Times puts it, a breath of fresh air. If nothing else, he brought in a load of youngsters who did remarkably well - for a while at least anyway (The Times)

The reason for Gannon's sacking apparently was due to him not signing a contract which, incidentally, doesn't seem to bother Walter Smith or Glasgow Rangers too much (BBC)

Meanwhile, at the business end of the league, things are returning to normal as Rangers romp home to victory (Scotsman) and Celtic leave it late, and not particularly great ( Evening Times)

Oh, and speaking of Celtic, just as the Ghreen side of Glasgow are getting around to pronouncing new signing Ki Sung-Yeung's name, there's more bad news in store as Scrabble-busting Dzmitry Verkhovtsov is in town for talks.

Kris Boyd has said he wants to return to the national team now that George Burley has fecked off. Should we let him?  Aye, go on then!  And as we're under new management anyway, fuck it - bring 'em all back!

The postponed game between St Mirren and Aberdeen on Saturday was used by McGhee as an excuse for the introduction of summer football (Evening Express), though St Mirren chairman Stewart Gilmour clearly has other ideas. He'd do well to remember that his team where playing in the Scottish Football League not too long ago, and look what happened to their fixtures this weekend ..
